Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 7, 2026
Learn Native English ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information when you use our website and services.
1. Information We Collect
Information you provide:
- Account information (name, email address, password via Supabase Auth)
- Waitlist and contact form submissions (name, email, company, message)
- Learning preferences (native language, CEFR level, goals)
- Feedback submissions
- Text you enter in lessons, assessments, or chat-style features
Information collected automatically:
- Learning progress and session data (modules completed, time spent, vocabulary)
- Assessment responses and results
- Device and browser information (for feedback context only)
- Aggregated technical logs of AI API usage (for example approximate token or character counts and cost estimates) tied to your account where applicable
Voice recordings and transcripts:
When you use voice features (such as module voice practice, pronunciation exercises, onboarding speech assessment, or AI tutor voice input), we collect:
- Audio recordings you submit, stored in our Supabase Storage bucket
- Transcripts of your speech produced by our transcription service
- Pronunciation scores and related assessment details
- Context linked to your account where applicable (for example lesson, step, target phrase, and your level)
We retain this information in our database and object storage solely to run those features, show you feedback, personalize difficulty, debug and improve reliability, and support internal quality and product-improvement work. We do not sell, share, or expose your voice recordings or transcripts to any third party beyond the transcription and scoring services listed in Section 4. Your recordings are stored securely and are accessible only to you and our systems. You may request a copy of your recordings or request their complete deletion at any time by emailing us or using the account deletion feature in Settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalize the learning experience
- To transcribe speech, score pronunciation, and power AI-assisted tutoring and assessment
- To track your progress and adapt content to your level
- To send product updates, learning tips, and promotional emails (you can unsubscribe at any time via a link in every email)
- To respond to contact and partnership inquiries
- To improve our service, monitor usage, and fix bugs
- To process subscriptions and payments where you purchase paid access
3. How We Store Your Data
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL database and object storage for audio and similar files, hosted on AWS) with encryption at rest and in transit. We use Row Level Security (RLS) so users can only access their own data where that model applies. Database connections use SSL.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Learn Native English:
- Supabase — Authentication, database, and file storage for user-uploaded audio
- Vercel — Application hosting and deployment
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered conversation and assessment from the text you send us
- OpenAI — Text-to-speech for lesson audio and Whisper-based transcription of your recordings
- Microsoft Azure — Pronunciation assessment for repeat-and-grade style exercises
- Stripe — Payment processing for subscriptions (card details are handled by Stripe under their terms; we do not store your full card numbers)
These providers receive only what is needed to perform each request. They process data under their own privacy policies and terms. We use them to provide inference, transcription, speech scoring, and payments—not to train our own machine-learning models on your content. Whether a provider may use API inputs for its own model development is governed solely by that provider's policies.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Cookies
We use cookies in three categories. You can manage your preferences at any time via the cookie banner.

- Locale cookie — Stores your language preference
- Onboarding cookie— Tracks whether you've completed the setup flow
- Cookie preferences — Stores your cookie consent choices
Analytics cookies (opt-in):
- Vercel Analytics & Speed Insights — Anonymous, aggregated performance metrics to help us improve page load times and user experience. No personally identifiable information is collected.
Marketing cookies (opt-in):
- Used to measure the effectiveness of our email campaigns and understand which content resonates with learners. You can opt out at any time via the cookie banner or by clicking "unsubscribe" in any marketing email.
6. International Data Transfers
We are based in the United States and use service providers that may process data in the U.S. and other countries. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers (for example Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and/or UK authorities, and/or other mechanisms recognized under applicable law), consistent with the practices of our subprocessors. You may contact us for more detail on transfers relevant to your data.
7. United States — California and other states
Depending on where you live, state laws may give you additional privacy rights. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use cross-context behavioral advertising as described in laws like the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA). We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
If you are a California or other U.S. resident with rights to access, delete, or correct personal information, or to appeal a decision on a request, contact us at contact@learnativenglish.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
This section is a general summary. Specific state laws and exceptions vary; we respond to valid consumer requests as required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights
Under GDPR and similar privacy regulations, you have the right to:
- Access — Request a copy of your personal data
- Correction — Update inaccurate information
- Deletion — Request deletion of your account and associated data (via Settings when available, or by emailing us)
- Portability — Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Withdraw consent — Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time
- Object or restrict — Where applicable, object to certain processing or ask us to restrict it
To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@learnativenglish.com.
9. Data Retention
- Account and learning data are retained while your account is active
- Voice-related database records are tied to your profile; they are removed when your learner profile is deleted (for example as part of account deletion). Stored audio files in object storage are intended to be deleted in that process as well
- Waitlist emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Contact form submissions are retained for 12 months
- If you need help confirming deletion of stored audio after closing your account, contact contact@learnativenglish.com
10. Subscriptions & Cancellation
Learn Native English offers subscription-based access. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing cycle. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period, and you will not be charged for the next cycle. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
If you cancel, you retain access to your subscription benefits until the end of your current paid period. After that, your account reverts to the free tier. Your learning progress, saved vocabulary, and account data are preserved.
11. Children
Learn Native English is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us immediately.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
